Margaret (Pyles) Noonkester

Mrs. Margaret Pyles Noonkester, age 74 of Ararat, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Novant Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Noonkester was born on January 9, 1952, in Surry County to the late Thomas Franklin and June Willis Pyles. Margaret was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend. She was an active member of her church and community who was always looking out for others. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving is her husband of 53 years, Michael Noonkester; son and daughter-in-law, Chadworth and Amanda Huwaldt Noonkester; sisters and brother-in-law, Shirley Pyles Arnder; Ruth Pyles Browne and Michael; brother and sister-in-law, Homer and Norma Jean Vernon Pyles; special loved ones who lovingly referred to her as “Nana” Oliva, Lettie, and Waylon. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Noonkester was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Kaye Pyles; and brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Betty Jean Sparger Pyles. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Collins and Elder David Kamoda officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
