Margie Marie James Kahle

Margie Marie James Kahle, 97, went home peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on February 25, 2025. She was born July 4, 1927 in Danville, VA. Margie was the daughter of the late Grover and Willie Dix James. She was predeceased by her first husband, Carl Rhodes Jr., her husband Joe Kahle and sister, Cleo Chaney.

Margie is survived by her sons, Donny Rhodes (Rene), Ronny Rhodes (Barbara) of Danville and Christopher Rhodes of Puerto Vallarto, Mexico; and by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a very special niece, Cheryl Collins and nephew, Lance Chaney.

Margie was employed as a office manager and bookkeeper for numerous Doctors throughout her career. She was a faithful member of North Main Baptist Church and was deeply involved in the prayer ministry there. She loved everyone and was loved by everyone who knew her.

The family would also like to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to the loving and caring caregivers and staff at Roman Eagle Nursing Home, during her stay there.

The family suggest that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to either the Danville Life Saving Crew, at 202 Christopher Lane, Danville, VA 24541 or to the charity of your choice.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025 at 12:00pm, at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA, with Pastor Fred Unger officiating. A private entombment will be held at Danville Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on the same day, prior to the service from 11:00am to 12:00pm, also at Norris Mt. Hermon chapel. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence of her son, Mr. Donny Rhodes.
