Maria Carmella Tambasco Brunk Harmon
MARIA TAMBASCO BRUNK HARMON, 98, of Bland, VA, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Lewis Gale Hospital- Montgomery, in Blacksburg, VA. She was born, May 29, 1927, in Trieste, Italy.
Maria was retired from the Tultex Corporation and enjoyed spending her time with her children and grandchildren. She loved taking care of her flowers and loved
all flowers. She loved going to the beach and collecting sea shells and her yearly 2 week hunting trip with her son, Mikey and his son-in-law, Gary.
She was a wonderful cook and loved feeding her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Vincenzo & Amalia Walla Tambasco, her son, Gene Brunk and grandson, Eugene, her daughter, Betty Davis and granddaughter, Rachel Sparks, five sisters and her husbands, Marvelle Brunk and Dennis Harman.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons & daughters-in-law, John & Betsy Brunk, Matt & Drema Harman, Mikey Brunk and Joe & April Brunk; her daughters & sons-in-law, Clara & Jimmy Dalton and Sandy Thompson; her brother, Carlo Tambasco; her grandchildren, James Brunk, Billy Davis, Wayne & Lori Davis, Cheryl Zabokrtsky, John Brunk, Jr., Angela & Brady Lewis, Matt Dalton, Carmella Thompson & Matt brady, Abbey Harman, David & Ashlyn Harman, Caitlynn Thompson, Becky & Gary Dunford, and Charlie & Nicole Thompson; her great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Davis, Tony Riley, Ariel Dunford, Austin Oneil, Mandy Sparks, Evelyn Grace Harman, Autumn & Xavier, Alex Brady, Sean Brady, Brooklyn Brady, Jakob Brady, Jaxon Brady, Amiya Thompson, Maddy Thompson, John Thomspon, Roman Thompson, Nancy Thompson, Eben Thompson and Gehrig Thompson; her great-great-grandchildren, Miracle Stilwell, Marina Stilwell, James Sharitz, Rachel Sharitz and Evelyn Hull; a special niece, Susie Dunn; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Per her wishes, she will be cremated. A memorial service will be held Monday, June 30, 2025 at 7:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with Rev. Joe Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until service time, 7:00 P.M.
