Marie Watson Snider

Marie Watson Snider, 87, of Lynchburg, VA, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025. A devoted wife, loving family member, and cherished friend, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Marie was the beloved wife of Kenneth R. Snider, sharing 67 wonderful years of marriage. She was the daughter of the late Wilbert S. Watson Sr. and Mildred Maddox Watson. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Louise M. Thompson, and her brother, Wilbert S. Watson Jr.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Linda Watson; nieces Cheryl Moore, Rhonda Mills (Dale), and Shawn Hecker (Chuck); nephews Stuart Watson and Rob Watson (Kim); great-nephews Tommy Combs (Kami), Cole Millner (fiancé, Camryn Arthur), Christian Hecker, Carson Mills, and Jacob Watson ; great-niece Ashley Bryant; as well as great-great-nieces and nephews, and many beloved cousins.

Marie was a woman of faith and a longtime member of Fairview Christian Church. She retired from Lynchburg Hosiery Mill and later from TPS Marketing Solutions. She found joy in cooking and baking for those she loved and cherished every moment spent with family and friends. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love will forever be remembered.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, starting at 1:00 p.m, at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
