Marion Smith

Mr. Marion Rodney (Joe) Smith, Sr., age 83, of Low Moor, died Sunday, May 11, 2025 at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany, Low Moor.
Mr. Smith was born October 5, 1941 in Clifton Forge, the son of the late Fred Allen Smith and Helen Fairburn Smith. He had been employed as a mechanic by the former Hercules and AET for a number of years. Joe was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Smith is survived by his girlfriend, Peggy Landrum; a son, Marion Rodney Smith, Jr.; a daughter, Shelain Sonja Smith; and two brothers, Richard Smith and Robert “Bobby” Fairburn.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Alleghany Memorial Park Mausoleum with Chris Fisher officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum.
