Marjorie Virginia Wilkins Smith

Marjorie Virginia Wilkins Smith, 93, of Eden Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center and formally of Ridgeway, Va. left this life on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.Mrs. Smith was born August 23, 1930 in Stokes County, N.C. to the late Fletcher and Coyle Carter Wilkins. She was of the Methodist Faith and had to retire from textiles at an early age due to RA. She also had worked alongside her husband, Ray Lee Smith, with tobacco farming before her retirement.Surviving is her daughter, Lisa Smith of the home; sister, Alta Robertson of Martinsville; sister-in-law, Doris Wilkins of Stoneville, NC. Also several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by an infant son, Barney Ray Smith and a brother, Lloyd Lee Wilkins. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 19, 2024 at Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway, Va. and will be officiated by the Reverend Dr. J.D. Harmon. There will be no formal visitation, however, family and friends are welcome to pay their respects at God’s Mission Church in Ridgeway immediately following the graveside service.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to a charity of the donor’s choice.The family would like to very much thank the staff of Eden Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center and Ancora Compassionate Care for the excellent care they provided to Marjorie while she was with them.McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Martinsville, Va. is serving the family.
