Mark Lee Powell

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Lee Powell, 71, of Kernersville, North Carolina on August 12, 2023.

Mark was born to Cecil and Katherine Powell and grew up in Botetourt County with his two brothers, Micheal and Steven. He continued to live in the surrounding area until he moved to Kernersville 25 years ago. Mark carried a sense of confidence and energy that drew many people to him. A devoted husband, father, and pawpaw, his absence will be felt by many.

Mark is survived by his wife Connie and four sons Justin, Matt, Chris, and Danny. He is also survived by his brother Steven, eleven grandchildren, and two great-granddaughters.

A service honoring Mark’s life 11:00 AM Friday, August 18 at Trinity Church of the Brethren, 5088 Roanoke Road Troutville. Burial will be at Trinity Cemetery.
