Marlene Vick Mitchell

Marlene Vick Mitchell, 86, of Gladys, VA, peacefully passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024.

Born on March 18, 1938, in West Franklin, IL, she was the daughter of the late Charles DeWitt Vick and Lisa Penrod Vick. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Eugene Peacock, and her granddaughter, Jennifer P. Elder.

Marlene dedicated much of her life to serving others, both as a Teller at First Virginia Bank and through her work with the Area Agency for Aging. Her faith was her foundation, and she was a devoted member of Kedron Baptist Church, where her love for Jesus shone brightly.

She found joy in the simple beauty of nature, cherishing flowers, birds, and the peaceful rhythms of life. Marlene’s kindness and warmth touched the hearts of her many friends, who will deeply miss her presence.

A graveside service celebrating Marlene's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Spring Hill Cemetery, with Pastor Guy Mosebrook officiating.
