Marlin Edsel Conner

Marlin Edsel Conner, 94, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 24, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer J. and Effie Cole Conner; wife, Doris Crotts Conner; son, Michael L. Conner; daughter-in-law, Jane Conner; and sister and brother-in-law, Delores and Bill Bauman.

Edsel loved farming and spending time with his family. He was a member of North Roanoke Baptist Church and the John Draper Sunday School class. He retired from G. E. Supply after 36 years of service.

Surviving are his daughter, Sandra J. Conner; son, James M. Conner (Missy), grandchildren, Brad Conner (Patti Ann), Mindy Facemire (Nathan), T.J. Conner; great grandchildren, Liam Conner, Josie Mae Facemire, Owen Conner, Cole Facemire, and Case Facemire.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to North Roanoke Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2024 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastor Daniel Palmer. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hermitage Roanoke, especially the Nurses and CNAs on Dogwood Lane for their exceptional care.
