Martha M. Harrison

Martha Harrison, 77, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Mulberry Creek Nursing Home, in Martinsville, Virginia. She was born on February 11, 1947, to the late Herbert L. Martin, Sr., and Della M. Williamson Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis E. Harrison, and one brother, Herbert L. Martin, Jr.

She was a member of St. James Pentecostal Holiness Church. She loved singing, laughing, dressing up, wearing different hairstyles, and spending time with family and friends. She will be remembered for bringing laughter to the family.

Martha is survived by her son, Edward Martin; two daughters, Eleanor J. Harrison (Rico), and Cleo D. Joyce (Roy); six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Betty M. Finneran, Dianne Martin, Rose M. Mason, and Sandra M Bedwell; four brothers, Jerry S. Martin, Jonah D. Martin, James M. Martin, and John L. Martin; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 12 noon, at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel with Bishop Loretta Dillard and Elder Cleo Joyce, eulogists. Burial will follow at Henry Memorial Park immediately following the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
