Mary Alice Scott Goard

Mary Alice Scott Goard, passed away peacefully on August 6th, 2023. She was born July 11th, 1948, to the late George and Gladys Scott in Stroud, Oklahoma. Alice is survived by her husband of 52 years Melvin Goard, and son and daughter-in-law Matthew and Mclane Goard. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Marion (Harold) Purnell and Brenda Adkins, and special friend Debbie Bray, as well as her beloved dog Bella.

Alice was a member of Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Dry Fork, VA. She retired from the Oklahoma Department of Health and Human Services.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 2:00pm at Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church, 3612 Dry Fork Road, Dry Fork, VA 24549, with Reverend Gerald Kelly officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. A visitation of friends and family will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, from 6:30-8:00pm at Norris Funeral Services, Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA. At other times the family will be at the residence.
