Mary Brown Clement
Mary Brown Clement was called to her Heavenly home on February 13, 2026. Mary was born in Concord, Va. on September 10, 1953, to Ernest and Peggy Brown. She leaves behind her loving husband of 41 years George Michael Clement (Mike), her son Jeffrey (Jeff) Allen Brown (Donna), her grandson Joel Brown, and granddaughter Sadie Brown who gave her five great-grandchildren. Mary was the sister to Nancy Brown Eagle, Kenneth Brown (Debbie) and Elizabeth (Beth) Brown who combined gave her six nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her sister Louise Brown. She and Mike found a church home with Millcreek Baptist Church where they were active members who were treasured by the congregation.Mary loved the outdoors and had the green thumb of the family. Any struggling plants were sent to her for rehab where she could always nurse them back to life. She also loved animals. She always had a dog in the home and often adopted other animals like her childhood pig “Linda” and more recently a maimed duck that she called “ducky”.Mary graduated from Appomattox High School and was a lifelong reader. In her spare time, if she didn’t have a book in hand, she was napping or cooking. Her heart for others was immeasurable. She would do anything in her power to help people. Often times that meant a home cooked meal made with love. Mary’s cooking was definitely her love language. Her cooking was always the highlight of any visit or family gathering. Her husband Mike spoke the same language. Food was how she met the love of her life. Mike worked in the meat department and Mary was the cake maker for Kroger. The rest is history. Please remember Mary when you wear her favorite color (blue), listen to her favorite song (Hello Darlin’ by Conway Twitty) or spend quality time with your family. Mary did not need fancy things to make her happy. Family, friends, food and laughter kept her soul joyful.Anyone who knew Mary knew she didn’t want anyone to make a fuss over her. That includes now as the family will honor her wishes of not having a memorial service. In leu of flowers, you can make a contribution to the American Cancer Society or swing by and bring Mike a homemade dish in her honor.
