Mary Edith Rogers

Mary Edith Rogers, age 87, of Roanoke, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Friendship Retirement Community.

Mary was born in Blacksburg May 19, 1936 and was the daughter of the late George W. and Irma W. Criner Price. In 1953, she married the late James R. Rogers and moved to Roanoke where she had resided since. Mary loved to cook, garden, taking leisurely drives, and shopping.

She is survived by her sons: James R. Rogers of Roanoke, Bobby Rogers of Salem; daughters: Carolyn (Glen) Horton Child of Florida, Judy (Larry) Pennino of Poquoson, Virginia; grandchildren: Kristi French, Becky Korkowski, Angie Coles, Sharon (Jack) Blank, Brittany Rogers, Tony (Thais) Pennino, Kristen (Travis) Stump, Eric (Bobbi) Pennino, Michelle Hackelton, and Christopher Harris; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Private services will be held at Fair View Cemetery, Roanoke.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105; or to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
