Mary Edna French Conley

MARY EDNA FRENCH CONLEY, 90, of Bland, VA, passed peacefully away Sunday, August 4, 2024  to go be with the Lord she so faithfully served.  She was born April 21, 1934, the daughter of Mitchell & Birdie French.

Edna was a sweet and Godly lady and loved the Lord with all of her heart. She was a homemaker for many years. She retired from Henry Shein in 2008 after 20 years of service. She was a member of the Glorious Church of Jesus of Pocahontas and New Hope Church of Bland. Edna was an Evangelist for many years.  She loved music and could play the guitar and piano.  Her happy place was in Church, visiting people and spending time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by many.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, Mitchell McKinley & Bertie Luannie Saunders French Underwood, her husband, James Albert Conley, her sons and daughter-in-law, Steven Conley and Mike & Julie Conley, her son-Iin-law, Michael Thomas Spicer, her grandson, Malcom Conley, her brothers & Sisters-in-law, Hubert McKinley & Ellen French, John French and Wallace, Sr. & Lucy French and her sisters & brothers-in-law, Shirley & Loyd Cregger, Charlie Conley, Betty & Carl Patton and Thelma & Homer Sutphin.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters & sons-in-law, Becky & Wayne Baker and Dorcas & Jeff Elledge; her sons & daughters-in-law, Barry & Judy Conley, Pete & Helen Conley, Cindy Conley and Joey & Pam Begley; her grandchildren, Michael Conley, Jessica Gray, Joshua Conley, Kevin Conley, Jamie Reynolds, Jennifer Reynolds, David Conley, Stevie Conley, Patrick Conley, Angel Reed, Destiny McKenzie, Bethany Elledge, Savanna Parker, Adam Spicer, Layla Baker, Randy Baker, Tammy Baker, Jason Begley, Jesse Begley and James Begley; 29 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Linda French and several special nieces & nephews.

Edna’s celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 7:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with her sons-in-law, Pastor Wayne Baker and Pastor Jeff Elledge officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until service time, 7:00 P.M.

Graveside committal services will be held Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Shiloh Cemetery.
