Mary Elizabeth Lindon
Mary Elizabeth Lindon, age 95, of Blacksburg, VA died Sunday, January 11, 2026. She was born November 21, 1930, in Roanoke, Virginia to J. Alfred Taylor and Virginia Hilton Taylor. Mary Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Luther W. (Luke) Lindon, her parents, and her brothers Alfred H. Taylor, Lewis E. Taylor, Samuel A. Taylor, and Lee Allen Taylor. She is survived by her goddaughter Kathy Peters Hall (David), sisters-in-law Brenda Taylor and Nancy Taylor, several nieces, and close friends Susan Elliott-Reed, Sally Elliott, Ann Linden, and Bob Poff. Mary Elizabeth served in the U.S. Navy during the Cold War achieving the rank of Lieutenant. After her military service ended, she was a teacher at Christiansburg High School and then part owner at an antique shop, Other Times, Ltd. She was active in 4-H, serving as a leader from 1976 until 2002, and later served as editor of the book Virginia’s Montgomery County. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at McCoy Funeral Home with visitation occurring one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mary Elizabeth’s name to the Montgomery Museum of Art and History at 4 E. Main St, Christiansburg, VA 24073 or your local 4-H club.
