Mary Hodges Lynch

Mary Hodges Lynch, age 82 of Rocky Mount passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026. She was born May 20, 1943, the daughter of the late Buford Hodges and Craton Hodges. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by her husband, Shelton A. Lynch; and son, James Lynch. Surviving are her two sons, Anthony Lynch and David Lynch; brother, Jay Hugh Hodges. Mary retired from E.I. DuPont with over 38 years of service. After retirement, she enjoyed her work at Cox’s Department Store. She was also a member of Henry Fork Community Church. Funeral services will be held at Henry Fork Community Church, 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2026. Interment will follow in the Hodges-Lynch Family Cemetery (Doe Run Road). Her family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
