Mary "Katie" Katherine Johnson

Mary Katherine Johnson, known affectionately as Katie, passed away on September 12, 2024, at the age of 43. Born on August 3, 1981, Katie was a loving wife, mother, and friend whose warmth and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her.Katie had a passion for bringing people together. She loved planning parties, cooking, and hosting gatherings in her home, where everyone was made to feel welcome. She took great joy in being a mother, and her love for her daughter Evie was immeasurable. Katie also cherished the simple pleasures in life, from spending summers at the Jersey Shore to attending local festivals and crafting beautiful things with her hands. Her dream of becoming a nurse was driven by a desire to ease the lives of others, showing the same kindness and care that defined her relationships.Katie was known for her desire for peace and harmony. She wanted people to be happy and to get along with one another, a reflection of her loving and giving nature.Katie was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lorraine Tanalski, her beloved uncle and aunt, William and Peggy Andahazy, who lovingly took her under their care during her younger years, and her grandmother, Ethel Schuchardt.She is survived by her devoted husband of 11 years, Nick, and her cherished daughter, Evie. She also leaves behind her in-laws, Heidi and Brian Rossi, her brother- and sister-in-law, Mike and Ashley Rossi, her best friends, Lisa and Pat Brogan, special family members, Ginny and John Petrino, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.A Memorial Service will be held by the family at a later date to celebrate Katie's life.Arrangements are being handled by Whitten Monelison Chapel, who is assisting the family during this difficult time.
