Mary Louise Sigmon

Mary Louise Sigmon, 70, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024, at her home. She was born on June 28, 1954, in Virginia to the late Euel and Frances Pauline Sigmon. Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Ashworth; and her brother, Jimmy Sigmon.

A dedicated member of Bassett Worship Center, Mary also served in the cafeteria at Bassett High School. While she devoted much of her time to the church and the Ladies’ Ministry, she had a true passion for cooking and enjoyed playing her favorite computer games. Mary took pleasure in quietly observing others and was a selfless family member, always eager to help. She cherished her moments with family and friends, often reaching out to check in on her loved ones.

She is survived by her two sisters, Janie Daniel (David) of Bassett, Virginia, and Peggy Adkins (Steve) of Spencer, Virginia; her brother, Reeves Sigmon (Evelyn) of Bassett, Virginia; eight nieces and nephews—Junior, Scott (Samantha), Allen (Tina), Shannon (Cary), Sonya (Justin), Stephanie (Brad), Blaine (Brittany), and Dakota—and numerous other family members and friends.

The visitation will be Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. The funeral service will be Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor B.J Smith officiating. The burial will be held at a later date at Henry Memorial Park.
