Mary Thompson Fulcher

Mary Helen Thompson Fulcher, 89, of Rocky Mount, VA passed away on November 7, 2025 at the Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital in Rocky Mount, VA.Mary was born in Franklin County, VA to the late Dewey Blue Thompson and Lethia Shively Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry Gabe Fulcher, four brothers, Glen Thompson, Wilbert Thompson, Marvin Thompson, and Bluford Thompson; two sisters, Lavie Thompson Smith, and Valery Thompson Richards; one step-son, Victor Fulcher; one niece, Janice Smith Eanes, and three nephews, Terry Thompson, Ronnie Dale Richards and David Wayne Richards.Mary traveled alongside Henry as he managed numerous construction projects in Richmond, VA, North Carolina and Florida. And, she was most pleased to return to Franklin County, VA in their retirement years. Mary was known in the family as the one who graciously entertained her relatives whenever they came to visit. One would always be welcomed with home cooked food and a gracious home. Along with her husband, Mary was a vital part of the Franklin County Historical Society and supported their efforts to continue to protect the history of Franklin County, VA.Mary is survived by her three stepchildren, Sharon Craig, Karen Davis, and Jerry Fulcher, all of Henry County, VA; 15 nieces and nephews of Franklin, Henry, and Patrick, VA counties, Georgia and North Carolina. The family is so appreciative of her caretaker and friend, Peggy Richards, and of Sherry Anderson, who became a dear friend to Mary and to the entire family.Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, November 13, 2025 in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Mountain View Memorial Park with Pastor Rick Poland officiating.Arrangements by Conner-Bowman Funeral Home & Crematory, 62 VA Market Place Drive, Rocky Mount, VA 24151
