Matthew Allen Anthony

Matthew Allen Anthony, 41, of Axton, VA, passed away on September 14, 2023 at his home. He was born December 29, 1981 in Sayre, Pennsylvania, to Frances Anthony Attal and the late James Alfred Anthony. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Saige Nicole Lee Anthony and brother, Joseph John Rought.

Matt enjoyed spending his free time with family and friends at his camp. He took pride in building a place where he could hang out, play darts, drink Mountain Dew, and listen to country music. He also enjoyed playing Xbox and was an avid gamer.

Matt is survived by his wife, Amanda Lynn Anthony of the home; daughter, Austyn Anthony; sons, Dacoyta Gillespie and Caleb Anthony; brothers, Sonny Anthony (Regina), Micheal Anthony (Angela), Shawn Anthony (Cindy), and Eric Anthony (Liz); sister Heather Anthony (Shane); a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friends Norm and Crystal Kuhn, Darryl and Debbie Burd, Chris and Jean Glass, Chance Deshazo, and Wayne Gillespie.
