Maxine Tomlin Vest

Maxine Tomlin Vest, 93 entered into eternal rest July 27 at The Summit of Lynchburg VA surrounded by the love of her sons. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald “Ding” and their daughter, Joann.She is survived by her sons: Marshall Vest, (Wanda), Donald Vest, Jr., and Robert Vest, (Ginger) all of Madison Heights, VA.She was born 1 July 1932 to the late Benjamin Clifton and Myrtle Martin Tomlin in Amherst County. She was employed for over 30 years at Joan & Jay Garment Factory. She retired from there prior to its' closing.She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Christopher L, Garbee, Marshall Vest, Jr, Angie Givens, April Parish, Bobbie Jo Seigler and Jeff Vest.She was preceded in death by six brothers: Roosevelt Tomlin, Asa Tomlin, Paul Tomlin, James Tomlin, Hoovey Tomlin and Albert Tomlin and three sisters, Gladys Martin, Margaret Tomlin and Virginia Tomlin Decker.The graveside service will be conducted by her nephew, Chaplain Ron Tomlin at Spring Hill Cemetery at Spring Hill Cemetery on Wednesday, July 30 at 11:00 am.In lieu of flowers consider donations to the Alzheimer’s Association 225 N Michigan Ave. Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601.The family expresses their gratitude to The Summit for the excellent care of their mom for the past two years.
