Mcdonald Webster Hardison
McDonald Webster Hardison, 86, of Vinton, VA, formerly of Roper, NC, and Denver, CO, went to be with the Lord on December 22, 2023. Born on January 29, 1937, to the late Angeline E. Webster Hardison and Wade Staten Hardison. He enjoyed watching Westerns, traveling, and going to the casino. He was a self-taught pianist, training himself to play by ear.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Jim Webster; paternal grandparents, Ruth and Henry Hardison; brothers, Wade Hardison, Sr., Jimmy Hardison, and Webb L. Hardison.
He is survived by his children, Donald R. Hardison, Pamela Hardison Willard, and Alvina Hardison Taylor and husband, Jerry; grandchildren, Adrian D. Wooldridge, Jonathan K. Willard and wife, Alexa, and Jaden Taylor; great-grandchildren, Ashton Wooldridge, Zavian Willard, Ezaius Willard, and Amias Willard; brother, Dallas K. Hardison; and numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, with Pastor Thomas Brown officiating.
Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service.
