Melissa Anne Hundley
Melissa Anne Hundley, 50, passed away at her home in Martinsville, Virginia, on Monday, September 22, 2025. She was born October 18, 1974, in Martinsville to the late James Edwin Hundley and Glennis Anne Cox Hundley.
Melissa was a graduate of Magna Vista High School and found her passion as a professional makeup artist. She enjoyed being self-employed for 15 years and having the opportunity to use her creativity and to make others beautiful. She was a woman of many interests and enjoyed watching wrestling and any of the TLC shows on television. She could often be found at her favorite restaurant, Olive Garden, enjoying a delicious meal with friends and family, especially going with Pamela Amos. Of all the things in this life that brought her happiness, nothing compared to the complete joy she found in loving and caring for her family and grandchildren. Melissa was never scared to take on new opportunities and did it with honesty, adding her personal “country slang” and determination. For those who knew her, she definitely made sure she would never be forgotten. She was happy, beautiful, and truly blessed.
She is survived by her daughters, Alexis Hairston and Katelyn “Katie” Hairston; sister, Diana Martin (Mark); and grandchildren, Ryleigh Watson and Eli Watson; aunt, Gail Minter; niece, Samantha Martin and nephew, Corey Martin.
The family would like to extend their gratitude for all of the love and support that has been shown during this time of grief.
Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family. Online condolences may be made at www.wrightfuneralservices.net.
