Michael Allen Bott

Michael Allen “Mike” Bott, 70 of Salem, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 10, 2025. He passed at home, surrounded by his loved ones.

Mike was born on July 8, 1954, in Roanoke, Va., son of the late Charles William and Nellie E. Baker Bott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several siblings and his daughter, Latisha Lynn Bott Thompson.

Those that knew Mike best will always be in remembrance of him tinkering around on his beloved tractor, or possibly his numerous trips to the Great Smokey Mountains, vacationing with his family. However, he will be remembered most for the great love he had for his family.

Mike was an old country boy, through and through. He loved his Bonanza and Gunsmoke, during times of rest. Country living was simply what he knew and loved best.

Family remaining to cherish his memory includes his devoted wife of 52 years, Louise Little Bott; daughter, Christy Hicks; three grandchildren, Carley Thompson, Zayne Altis, and Nathaniel “Bob” Hicks; four great grandchildren, Kehlina Rose Altis, Kayden Michael Altis, Evaea Lynn Fisher, and Roman Elijah Hicks; and two sisters, Barbara Bare and Rose Wilson.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, in Salem.

Funeral services honoring Mikes life will be conducted on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the funeral homes chapel. Pastor Steve Parker will officiate.

Interment will follow at Bott Family cemetery. All are welcome.
