Michael Brandon Lucas

Michael “Mike” Brandon Lucas of Salem passed away on May 3, 2025.

He was born February 26, 1984. Mike was 41.

He attended Fellowship Community Church and was in construction and food services for most of his life.

He was a sports enthusiast. Mike was an avid football fan (Carolina Panthers, Tennessee Titans, Virginia Tech Hokies and LSU Tigers). He also religiously watched WWE wrestling and enjoyed watching his basketball team, Golden State Warriors and Steph Curry.

He was passionate about music, loved long drives and enjoyed the rain. The Mill Mountain Star was his place of peace.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ashley Lucas; children, McKayla “Kayla” Lucas, Mike Lucas, Jr., and Austin “Bubba” Lucas; father, Clifton Hodges; mother, Jewel Hodges; brother, Shane Hodges; sister in law, Kalena “Kaylie” Hodges, god-daughter, Jordan Coutant; god-son, Avion Camber; special friends, Robert “Rob” Camber, TJ Stone, Derek Robinson, DJ Moore, Katlin Wellmon, Timothy Davis, Sr., Amber Sesler; fur babies, Sugar “Mama”, Shadow “Sissy”; and lots of extended family and numerous friends!

He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Bertha Bowers and June Baine; his grandfathers, Charles Baine and Ray Bowers; close friends, Scott Allen Brown, Justin Brooks, and Mark Preston; his fur angel, Khaos “Little Big Man”; and extended family, Sharon Kemp.

The family will receive friends at Fellowship Community Church, 1226 Red Lane Ext, Salem, VA from 1:00 until 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 14, 2025. A celebration of life service will be held following the visitation at 3:00 pm. A balloon release will take place immediately following the celebration of life.
