Michael Keith Evans

Michael Keith Evans, 67, of Pelham, NC, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024, after several years of declining health. He was born on July 27, 1956, in Danville, VA to the late Sam Lloyd Evans and Robette Robertson Evans. On March 25, 1978, he married Cheryl Bryant Evans. Michael attended Barlett Yancey High School and Rockingham Community College. He worked in the water well industry for 34 years. He was certified by the National Ground Water Association, the state of North Carolina, and state of Virginia. He was also certified in the handling and disposal of hazardous materials. He partnered with Sandvik Mining Corp. and Numa Tool Co. to field test down the hole drilling hammers to improve drilling technology.Michael loved hunting and fishing. He was a muscle car enthusiast. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and looked forward to the family beach trip to the Outer Banks every summer.In addition to his parents, Michael was predeceased by a sister, Lisa Evans.He is survived by this wife, Cheryl of the home, his daughter, Christie Adams (Lee) of Angier, NC, his son, Justin Evans (Celina) of Blanch, NC, and his four grandchildren, Austin Evans, Walter Adams, Charlotte Evans, and Lettie Evans. He is also survived by two sisters, Pam Cook (Larry) and Karen Moorefield (Jesse) and numerous nieces and nephews.To respect Michael’s last wishes, there will be a private graveside service. There will be no formal visitation.
