Michael Ray O'Dell

Michael Ray O’Dell, 60, of Ridgeway, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025. He was born March 28, 1965, in Martinsville, Virginia to Nancy B. O’Dell Joyce and the late Hassell Lee O’Dell.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Brad Williams.

Michael was, above all, a devoted caregiver whose greatest joy was found in caring for his father and mother. A man of the Christian faith, he attended Drewry Mason High School and carried his beliefs with him in everything he did, always eager to share the goodness of the Lord and the blessings he had received. Michael had a remarkable sense of humor and a heart full of compassion – he would gladly give his last dime to someone in need without hesitation. He was intelligent and curious, often spending his free time reading or watching documentaries, always seeking to learn more. His love for his children and grandchildren knew no bounds, and he never missed an opportunity to share how proud he was of them. Michael had a truly generous spirit and a heart that touched everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his daughter, Faith Orcutt (Josh); sons, Levi O’Dell (Jen) and John O’Dell; sisters Sandie Nowlin (Rhon) and Jenny Williams; grandchildren, Trinity, Joshua, Jr., Harmony, and Aden.
