Michael Scott Campbell

Michael Scott Campbell of Amherst, Virginia passed away on April 11, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Michael was born on May 13, 1955 to the late Junior Roger Campbell and is survived by his mother, Rachel Magdalene Mays Campbell.

He was married to the love of his life, Vicky Jean Sprouse Campbell on June 23, 1983. Michael spent many years working as a laborer for Griffin Pipe supporting his family. He loved hunting and fishing and loved being outdoors and loved playing golf. He was a devoted member of Clifford Baptist Church.

Michael is survived by his wife, Vicky Campbell; mother, Rachel Magdalene Mays Campbell; son, Michael S. Campbell II (Susan); brothers, Roger Campbell (Sylvia), Tony Campbell (Gail), and Timmy Campbell (Tracey); sisters, Barbara Dalton, Nancy Watts (Kenneth), Teresa Crouch (Joe), Sarah Ogden (Marty), Rose Evans (Gary), and Christie Krueziger (William); grandchildren, Mikayla Campbell (Jacob), Cyrus Campbell, Jacob Campbell, and Eli Campbell; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend Bobby Thompson.

A visitation will be held at Clifford Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 from 6pm-8pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Clifford Baptist Church at 11am with burial to follow at Jonesboro Cemetery. Pastors Jeffrey Campbell, Mike Fitzgerald, and Clyde Mawyer will be officiating. Driskill Funeral Chapel is serving the family.
