Michael Vance Marion

Mr. Michael Vance Marion, age 47, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at his home. He was born on August 15, 1975, in Surry County to Rachel Ann East Marion and the late Donald Marion. Mr. Marion was raised in White Plains. He attended White Plains Elementary School, North Surry High School and graduated from Appalachian State University in 1999 with a BS degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology. Surviving is his mother, Rachel Ann East Marion of the home; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Pam Marion of Mount Airy; sisters and brother-in-law, Lisa Marion of Mount Airy and Lynne and Tony Beck of Franklin, GA, niece, Tara Beck of Franklin, GA; nephew, Staff Sgt. Drake Beck and Lindsay Beck of Phoenix, AZ; great niece, Olivia Mae Beck of Phoenix, AZ. Mr. Marion was preceded in death by his father, Donald Marion, grandparents, Wilburn and Mary Inez East, and William Vance and Bertha Atkins Marion. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM, April 20, 2023, at Blues Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Travis Sechrist, Rev. Zane Fishel, and Brother Sammy Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit in Blues Grove Baptist Church on Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Moody Funeral Service of Mount Airy, NC.
