Michael William Duncan

Michael William Duncan, 72, of Roanoke, VA passed away Friday, August 23, 2024 after a long illness.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Janet, his brother Jeffery Franklin and family Michelle, Davis and

Kendall and his brother Steve Duncan and family Roselyn, Joshua, Jacob and Justin and by his brother-in-

law Jim Henke and wife Carol. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and

nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, George Duncan and mother and

stepfather Helen and Paul Franklin.

He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and attended Central Michigan University, VA Tech and Hollins

University. Mike met his wife Janet, of 49 years, at CMU. They moved to Roanoke where they made

their home and found many life-long friends. He worked in retail and many years in banking at Wells

Fargo.

Mike and Janet enjoyed many years traveling in their R.V. to Florida and Michigan where he enjoyed his

free time on the golf course or with his camera tracking down birds or lighthouses. Mike was a diehard

VA Tech and Washington football fan and he never lost hope for his teams.
