Michelle Shelton Fulcher

April 8, 1970 - March 1, 2025

Maria Michelle Shelton Fulcher, 54, of Martinsville, Virginia, went to be with her Savior on Saturday, March 1st, 2025, in the comfort of her home surrounded by those who loved her. She was born April 8th, 1970, in Martinsville, Virginia, to Maria Shelton Vaughn and the late James Alan Shelton.

Michelle is survived by her mother and father, Maria Shelton Vaughn and Guy Terry Vaughn; daughter, Ashley Custer; son, Allen Fulcher (Brittany); daughter, Victoria East (Casey); daughter, Jordyn Willard; son, Terry “TJ” Willard; son, Cole Willard; sister, Theresa Shelton; life partner, Brandon McNeely; grandchildren, Bryant, Noah, Elijah, Aivree, Jurnee, Russell, and Millie; three nieces and two nephews; and her honorary fur-baby, Jimbo. In addition to her daddy, she is preceded in death by her youngest son, Sebastian McNeely.

The definition of love and caring. Michelle was voted Miss Congeniality while in high school and that’s exactly how she was her entire life. She was the definition of being beautiful on the outside and inside. Anyone who knew or met Michelle could see the care she had for others, but more than anything, the love for her children. She had a gift for guidance and inspiration that touched the lives of her children, their friends, and countless others. Everyone that knew her spoke of the enormous heart and compassion she had for everyone she knew or met.

She grew up the younger of two sisters and lost her daddy at the age of 13 years old. Although Michelle experienced many disappointments and hardships throughout her life, she never let it change who she was and reinforced the insurmountable love and care she showed everyone. Michelle always put others before herself and ensured her children had the loving mother everyone should have.

Even though Michelle never made anyone feel unloved or cared for, nothing came before the most important thing in her life… the love for her children and grandchildren. No matter the circumstances, her family never experienced the feeling of being hurt or not loved by her and she always let them know she loved them every second of her life. Michelle was a beloved member of Northside Baptist Church, was strong in her faith and loved her Savior with all her heart.
