Mickey Allen Phillips

August 22, 1972 - June 14, 2025

It is with deep sorrow and immense love that we announce the passing of Mickey Phillips at the age of 52. He was a devoted husband, cherished family member, and beloved friend. Mickey passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025 at home surrounded by loved ones.

Mickey was Born on August 22, 1972, in Martinsville, Virginia to the late Roger Allen Phillips and Pamala Diana Phillips. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his niece Chelsea Ann McGhee and great nephew Dylan Ellender.

Mickey was only one of the names he went by, he was also known as coach, dad, papa, but most knew him as Tree. He lived a life marked by kindness, humor, hard work, and unwavering love for those around him. He was the heart of our family—a steady presence who always knew how to bring a smile, offer wise words, or lend a helping hand.

Mickey was more than just a husband—he was my best friend, my partner, my greatest blessing. His love was unconditional, his support boundless, and his laughter unforgettable. He lived each day with strength and sincerity, touching the lives of many with his generosity and spirit.

He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Jessica Phillips; sons, Holden Phillips, Bryce Phillips, Cody Piacitelli, and Chandon Phillips; sisters, Robin Phillips Glidewell and Cheryl Phillips Carter; brother, (RW) Roger Woodson Phillips; niece, Ashley Minter Ellender; nephews, Tyler Minter, Hunter Phillips, Cody Phillips, Lucas McGhee, and Jake Glidewell; grandson, Nash Piacitelli; great nieces, Lexi Oakes, and Skyler Oakes; great nephews, Aiden Minter, Liam Minter, and Benton Glidewell, and a host of extended family and close friends who will miss him dearly.

A celebration of Mickey’s life will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 with the visitation at Franklin Heights Church starting at 5:00 p.m. and services to follow at 7:00 p.m. All who knew and loved Mickey are welcome to attend and honor his memory.

Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for every moment shared with him. Mickey’s love will continue to guide us, and his memory will remain forever in our hearts.

A special thank you to Whitney Pugh for being with him and the family every step of this very difficult diagnosis and going above and beyond!
