Mildred Ann Nelson Smith

Mildred Ann Nelson Smith, 93, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023. She was born on October 18, 1929, in Martinsville, Va. to the late Vernon Nelson and Kate Lester. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy S. Smith. Also, her sisters: Gladys Barnes and brothers Buster Nelson and Buddy Nelson, and Son Johnny Smith.

She is survived by her children, son, Robert “Bobby” W. Smith and daughters, Janet Smith Harrell (Ronald), and Judy Smith Gregory (Walter). The grandchildren are Jason Harrell, John David Harrell (Karen), and C. Scott Gregory (Stephanie). Mrs. Smith is also survived by 4 Great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Friday, August 4, 2023, with Pastor David Deisher. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30am prior to service at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel.

The burial will be held at Roselawn Burial Park.

She was a lifetime member of the Pleasant Grove Christian Church.
