Mollie Angell Wood

Mollie Angell Wood went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday evening, February 9, 2026. She was born on November 11, 1937.She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessy Newton Wood; parents, Caleb Angell and Calestia Hale Angell; sisters Maggie, Edith, and Shirley; and her brother Marshall.She is survived by her son, Larry Wood, and wife Wanda; her daughter, Tammy Williams and husband Dennis; and her daughter, Sandi Wood Witt and husband Barry. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer and Chris Parker; Rebecca (Becca) Williams; Jesse and Teresa Witt; Daniel and Kathryn Richmond; Joshua Witt; and Nathan and Kayla Patrick. She was blessed with great-grandchildren, Landon, Logan, Caroline, Rucker, Deacon, Luke, and Silas. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Mary Hutton.Mollie enjoyed her working years serving others and sharing laughter everywhere she went. Her laugh was renowned within the family and brought joy to those around her. She loved joking and playfully teasing others, and the one word most often used to describe Mollie was “sweet.”The family is especially thankful for Mia, who provided excellent and compassionate care for Mollie during her time in the nursing home.Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 3 pm in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with Pastor Barry Witt and Rev.
