Montize Omon Turner
Montize Omon Turner, 36, of Greensboro, North Carolina, transitioned to his heavenly home Wednesday, July 23, 2025. He was born March 30, 1989, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Irish Denise Turner.
He worked for six years as a dedicated Care Manager in the social work field, where he made a meaningful diffference in the lives of others. A 2007 graduate of Martinsville High School, Montize went on to pursue his passion for helping people with compassion and commitment. He was a member of the United in Christ Church in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he attended and found strength in his faith. He loved fishing, singing, and cooking – especially when surrounded by the people he cared about most. He had a deep love for his family. He found joy in the simple pleasure of driving, whether to clear his mind or explore new places. Montize’s kind spirit, joyful presence, and generous heart will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Tina Michelle Vanhoy Turner; son, Irieyon D. Turner; brothers, Carl Turner, Kenya Turner; and paternal grandmother, Patricia Turner.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Briana Headen, officiating of United in Christ Church, Greensboro, North Carolina. Interment will follow at Pritchett Cemetery, 1165 West Fork Road, Cascade, Virginia. A visitation will be held one half hour prior to the service. There will be a floating visitation Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 2:00 – 5:00 PM.
