Myra Nell Guilliams

Myra Nell Guilliams, 64, of Moneta, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. She was born on March 5, 1958 to the late Richard L. Erickson and Imogene C. Erickson. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Randy E. Erickson and Nathan M. Erickson. Our mother found love with James, by the appearance of the back of his head, while sitting behind him during a Virginia Western college course. From then, she knew the two of them would have a long life together ahead. She always encouraged us growing up to find a partner and best friend to marry, I believe she found this with our father. Myra was a fiercely dedicated mother to all of her children, raising all five boys. Family came first and was above all else, a value she instilled in all those around her. She constantly urged her boys to become the best men they could be. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill. She was an avid member of her community, in which she served as the Resident Manager of Beechwood West. I often think in times like these of the commandment found in Mark 12:31 “…You shall love your neighbor as yourself…” I believe that Myra deeply appreciated and cared for all those she helped on a daily basis.Myra is survived by husband of 45 years, James M. Guilliams; Five sons Stewart, Philip, Grant, Evin, and Keelan; Brothers Warren M. Erickson and Richard K. Erickson; and many delightful grandchildren. The Family will accept Family and Friends Tuesday evening, December 20, at Goodview Baptist Church starting at 6:00. Life celebration service will follow at 7:00.
