Nancy M. Wimbush

Nancy M. Wimbush, 86, of Bassett, VA, died October 4, 2025, at Carilion Franklin Memorial

Hospital Rocky Mount, VA. She was born May 3, 1939, the daughter of the late Lawyer T.

Wimbush and Pencie V. Wimbush.

She was a resident of Bassett, VA for many years.

Also, proceeding her death were her brothers Jessie Wimbush, Early Wimbush, sisters Lillie

Wimbush and Mary Stredrick, Brother-in-law, James E. Manns and Sister-in-laws Patricia A.

Wimbush and Lucy Wimbush.

Surviving are two brothers Samuel M. Wimbush and George (Dinah) Wimbush, sister

Mildred Manns of Charlotte, NC and Shirley (George) Clemons of Salem, VA, Sister-in-law

Galvester Wimbush of Bassett, VA, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She graduated from GW Carver High School. She also graduated from Cortez Peters

Business College in Washington, DC. She was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist

Church. She was a member of the Daughter of Isis, Martinsville, VA. She was employed by

VA Regional Office and the United States Postal Services in Philadelphia, PA. She also

retired from Eastman (formerly known as Martin Processing).

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at the Wimbush Family Cemetery, Bassett, Virginia. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service,
