Nancy Simpson Adams

May 3, 1932 - February 13, 2024

On Tuesday, February 13, 2024, Nancy S Adams, affectionately known as “Fancy Nancy,” went to be with her loving Savior, while holding her sister’s hand, after a decline in health.

Nancy Simpson Adams, 91, of Richmond, VA was born in Hurt, VA on May 3, 1932, a daughter of the late Reuben Floyd Simpson and Nannie Short Simpson. She was often lovingly known as Fancy Nancy due to her ability to take thrift store dolls and turn them into fancy, well-dressed dolls. Nancy loved to craft, sew, and quilt. She has created many beautiful works of art in her 91 years. Nancy had a passion for gardening and worked tirelessly to keep her flowers and yard beautiful. Nancy was a faithful member of Swift Creek Baptist Church in Midlothian, VA while her health allowed. Nancy loved her nieces and nephews dearly and always made them feel special.

Her family would like to thank her cousins, Wanda and Wayne Huggins, for their loving care for Nancy. We would also like to thank Brookdale Senior Living, sitters, Reat Hamilton and Edna Miller, and Nayar Hospice for caring for her since December.

Nancy was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Adams and brothers Wilber O. Simpson and Milton David Simpson.

Nancy leaves behind one son, David (wife Susan), and three grandsons Jason, Daniel, and Nathan Adams who were the pride and joy of her life. Nancy is also survived by her sister, Hilda Smith, who has been her best friend since childhood. Nancy left behind nieces and nephews, Vicky Geppert, Jerry and Patti Smith, Donald and Connie Smith, and Jewel and Gerald Hancock; great nieces and nephews, Michelle and Daniel Tittiris, Sarah and Wes McDowell, Emily Hancock, Erin and Jason Biggs, and Benjamin and Bethany Geppert; great-great nieces and nephews, Emma, Annsley, and Josiah Tittiris, Anna, Charity, and Gabriel McDowell, Brayden Allen, and Savannah Biggs.

The family will receive friends at the home of her sister, Hilda Smith.
