Nathaniel Law

Nathaniel Law, 75, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Highland Ridge Rehab Center in Dublin, Virginia. He was born on November 13, 1948, in Axton, Virginia, to the late Charlie William Law and Martha Gravely Law. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charlie William Law Jr.

Nathaniel was an Army veteran. He joined New Design Baptist Church at an early age. He was a Parts Pro, most recently at O’Reilly Auto Parts, and worked at Advance Auto Parts for 29 years. He loved bowling and shooting pool. He was an avid lover of basketball; he coached his two sons during their recreation league; in his younger years, he would play; and later in life, he enjoyed watching the sport on television.

Nathaniel is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Vanessa Law; two sons, Nathaniel Robert Law (Keeisha) of Charlotte, NC and Andre William Law of Martinsville, VA; three grandchildren, Paje Law, Kaiya McCorkle, and Orion Thomas Cummings; three sisters, Besty Law of Philadelphia, PA, Kathie Smith of Houston, TX and Hope Breedlove (John) of Axton, VA; one brother, Tony Law of Charleston, WV; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024, at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel at 12:00pm. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service. A private burial will be held.
