Neil Elmer Hodge

Neil Elmer Hodge, 89, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023. He was born February 01, 1933, in Stuart, Virginia to the late Charlie “Alvis” Hodge and Mary Goldie Odell Hodge. Neil proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was employed by and retired from VDOT after thirty-one years as a Construction Engineer. He was a self-taught musician and loved his family dearly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Barrow Hodge; second wife, Patricia Morgan Hodge; son, Charles Anthony “Tony” Hodge; son in law, Jeremiah “Jerry” Davis; and brothers, Warren Hodge, Larry Hodge, Lloyd Hodge. He is survived by his sister, Alvena Hall; son, Daniel L. Barrow (Tanya); daughters, Sandra “Sandy” Davis, Pamela “Pam” Ramsey (Billy), Judith “Judy” Wachsmann (Otto); stepson, Greg Marshall (Sara); stepdaughter, Stacie Ward (Glenn); daughter in law, Angie H. Hodge; grandchildren, Richard Barrow (Melanie), Ryan Barrow (Amanda), Susan Blackman (Doug), Beth Frace (Dave), Kim Wheeler (Michael), Sarah Davis (Nathan), Sydney Davis, Elyse R. Bare (Brandon), William “Trey” Ramsey, III, Kate W. Parker (Lynn), Kirsten Wachsmann, Tyler Marshall (Alexis); great-grandchildren, Hunter Barrow, Kaylee Barrow, Nathaniel Barrow, Rebekah Barrow, Ava Blackman, Rhett Blackman, Cecelia Frace, Henry Frace, Clara Wheeler, Tatum Zaborowski, Jack Bare, Neil Parker, Marleigh Parker. The funeral will be Thursday, January 12, 2023, at 2:00 PM, at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Don Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
