Nellie Ann Mills

Nellie Ann Mills, 76, of Stewartsville, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 25, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Annie Long; her daughter, Deborah; sisters, Carolyn, Virginia and Cornelia; brothers, Lafon and Aubrey and several nieces and nephews.Nellie enjoyed going on adventures with her sisters to Myrtle Beach and Tennessee. She was a vast gardener. Nellie loved to spend time with her family, teaching her nieces and nephews how to cook, take care of animals and tell jokes. She would stay up late playing cards and board games while eating cookies.Nellie is survived by her loving husband, Lonnie Mills; sisters, Louella (Tony), Evelyn; brother, Donnie (Lois); nieces and nephews, Shawn, Heather, Brian and Kimberly and numerous other nieces and nephews; special great-nieces and great-nephews as well as a special friend that was like a niece, Missy and her four legged companion, Sammy.A celebration of Nellie’s life will be conducted 1:00 pm, Friday, September 29, 2023 at Lotz Funeral Home, 305 East Washington Avenue, Vinton burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery-Vinton with Pastor Brian Geiser officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 1:00 pm prior to the service.
