Nicky Alvin Dye
Nicky Alvin Dye, 68, of Madison Heights, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on July 18, 1956, in Richlands, Virginia, Nicky was the son of the late Ershal Dye and Anna Patrick Dye. He carried with him the warmth and resilience of his Appalachian roots throughout his life.
He is survived by his children, daughter, Nichole Bradley; sons, Bradley Dye and Timothy Dye (Christina); and step-son, Ronnie Walton. He also leaves behind his siblings: brother, Ricky Dye (Elaine); sisters, Vickie Moore (Wayne), Debra “Susie” Riley (Tommy), and Sandra Carter (William); and 10 grandchildren. Nicky’s memory is also held dear by his former spouses, Janet Hailey and Donna Dye.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Dye.
Nicky was a proud retiree of Abbott Labs, where he dedicated many years of hard work and commitment. Outside of work, he found joy and relaxation in the simple pleasures of life, especially playing golf and bowling—pastimes that brought him great happiness and lasting friendships.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Big Brothers Big Sisters an organization that Nicky supported, www.bigcva.org/donate.
