Norma Davis Dodd

Norma Davis Dodd, 83, of Danville, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 31, 2025, peacefully at her residence.

Born on July 3, 1942, in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Lacy Vann Davis and Levina Benson Davis.

On August 13, 1960, she married the love of her life, Jerry Dodd, who survives.

Norma graduated from Whitmell High School. She was a dedicated employee of the Virginia Employment Commission, retiring after 25 years of service. Norma and Jerry spent many happy years of retirement enjoying their home on Smith Mountain Lake. Norma was also a member of St. John’s Church.

In addition to her husband, Norma is survived by her two daughters, Karen Beale (Bryan) and Kim Petrovich (Jeff); three grandchildren, BJ, Jordan (Clayton), and Natalie (Rand); and one great-grandchild, Ellie Grace. Norma is also survived by two sisters, Betty Thomas and Pat Jones. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Norma is preceded in death by her sister, Sarah Clifton.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 12 p.m. at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA, with Pastor Jason Austin and Bob Yeaman officiating. A visitation will be held one hour before the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA.
