Norman "Cherokee" Odell Bowman

Mr. Norman “Cherokee” Odell Bowman, age 83, of Claudville, Virginia, passed away Sunday morning, March 22, 2026, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Bowman was born in Roanoke County, Virginia on November 27, 1942, to the late Odell Lafayette and Lillion Beatrice Nunn Bowman. Cherokee was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Surviving is his son and daughter-in-law, Norman Scott Bowman and Dawn Easter; and two grandchildren, Olivia Wilson, and Hagen Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Frances Beasley Bowman. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Rick Mann and Mr. Mike Shoaf officiating. Interment will follow in the Church of Christ Church Cemetery ~ Dry Pond. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Moody Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy have been entrusted with the arrangements.
