Oadie Ray Keen

Oadie Ray Keen Sr., 90, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Oadie was born on December 6, 1935 in Pittsylvania County, VA to the late John Thomas Keen and the late Gracie Bailess Keen. He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Mrs. Jeanie Akers Keen.

Oadie was of the Christian Faith, and a member of Shining Light Baptist Church. He ran his own business, O.K. Construction, for many years, previous to his retirement.

In addition to his wife, Oadie is survived by two sons; Oadie Keen Jr. (Glori Gibson Keen) of Blairs, VA and Mark Kelly Keen (Audra Wiles Keen) of Alton, VA; a daughter; Susan K. Newman (David) of Blairs, VA; a brother: Pate Keen; and five grandchildren; Donald Newman, Oadie “Trey” Keen III (Virginia), Shayna Keen (Wes), Caleb Keen, and Cayla Keen.

In addition to his parents, Oadie was predeceased by six brothers; William, Clarence, Charlie, John, Russell, and Anderson Keen; and two sisters; Wade Barbour and Ester Keen.

A Funeral Service will be conducted on Sunday March 15, 2026 at 3:00p.m., at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA, with Pastor Adam Wood and Clayton Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park, Danville, VA. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 from 5-6:30pm also at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence.
