Odean McClary

Odean McClary, 78, of Danville, Virginia, transitioned to his heavenly home August 15, 2025. He was born December 28, 1946, in Statesboro, Georgia, to the late Henry McClary, Jr. and Eunice Mae McClary.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dolores McClary and his sister, Alice McClary Sanyaolu.

Odean was of the Christian faith and attended Thomas Grove Baptist Church. He was a diligent worker and spent 20 years in the textile industry with Dan River Mills. On any given day, he could be found with family or friends, simply talking about the weather. Odean enjoyed the simple things in life, whether enjoying watching television or being on the computer. He loved cars, but everything paled in comparison to the love he had for his family. His legacy of love and kindness will forever be remembered by those who were blessed to know him.

He is survived by his son, Ryan McClary; sisters, Joyce McClary Smith, Grace McClary, Pearl McClary Walker; brother, Henry McClary, III (Conny); and three grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the love and support that has been expressed to the family during this time of grief.
