May 25, 1941 - October 17, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Ola Maxine Hall. She was called to her heavenly home on October 17, 2024, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's, she was 83 years old.

Ola Maxine Hall was born in New Castle, VA. She was the daughter of John Max Hancock, Sr. and Lucille Hancock and was one of six siblings.

She was married to Lewis Grubbs, Sr. and then to Charlie Hall. There are two sons from her first marriage; Lewis Grubbs, Jr. and Joseph Grubbs. Joseph lived with and cared for his mother after living with and caring for his sick grandmother. Ola Maxine Hall was also a proud grandmother to multiple grandchildren.

Ola Maxine Hall worked hard in her lifetime. She worked several jobs and retired from working at Salem High School. She also worked hard caring for multiple sick family members.

Ola Maxine Hall was a very special person and the best mom and grandmother a person could ask for. She took great pride in her appearance and was often complemented on her outfits. She loved going to church as they were her second family. At church she loved to sing and grew into a talented singer and was asked to sing at several events.

The family has chosen cremation. There will be no visitation or service. The family wishes to thank all those who cared for mom over the years during her illness and made it possible for her to remain at home.
