Opal Spencer Wilson

Opal Spencer Wilson, 93, of Axton, VA passed away Friday, November 24, 2023 at Stanleytown Health and Rehab. She was born March 1, 1930 to the late William Edward Spencer and Allie Mae Oliver Spencer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Jackson Wilson; sister, Thelma Purdy; and brother, MacDonald Spencer.

She is survived by her children, Michael Dean Wilson (Linda), Yvonne Pack (Ted), and Donna Ortega-Wilson; grandchildren, Bryan Wilson, Travis Wilson (Sarah), Lydia Griffin (Keenan), Joseph Wilson, Juan Ortega-Wilson, Nicholas Ortega-Wilson, and William Ortega-Wilson; and great-grandchildren, Connor Ortega, Weston Wilson, and Kensley Wilson.

Mrs. Wilson was a member of Akins Summit Wesleyan Church and worked as a bus driver for Henry County Public Schools for 20 years.

The funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Norris Funeral Services. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. The burial will follow the funeral at Roselawn Burial Park.
