Oscar Justice Hankins
Oscar “Jay” Justice Hankins, 48, of Martinsville, Virginia, transitioned to his heavenly home on Monday, September 22, 2025. He was born January 10, 1977, in Henry County to the late David Hankins Sr. and Florence Coleman Hankins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother David “Hankie” Hankins, Jr and his daughter Jessica Hankins.
Oscar had a love of model cars and was very attentive to the details in building and painting them, some say he even kept Hobbie Lobby in business. He loved watching the tv shows “Pawn Stars” and “American Pickers” and loved to listen to Ozzy Osbourne, with his favorite song being “Mama, I’m Coming Home”. Oscar loved his family and spending time with them, especially if he could share his love of model cars and his favorite tv shows with them. He was a logger by trade and a father by heart and filled his home with love, guidance, and protection and passed those traits along to his children.
Left to cherish his memory are his lifelong partner, Susie Hill; son, Dakota Hankins; step-children, Erik Cantu, Abigail Cantu and Steven Brandon and mother, Kimmy Brandon; sister, Gloria Barker (Ricky), Donna Hankins (Harden), Hassie Stone (Dwight), Kristian Cobb (Adam); brother, Hubert Cline (Nicki); aunt, Gloria Villemarette; uncle, Harden Hankins, Sr.; best friend, Steven Holland and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 12 PM at the Pythian Lodge at 3749 Fairystone Park Hwy, Bassett, Virginia 24055.
