Pamela Jean Chitwood Altieri

Pamela Jean Chitwood Altieri, age 72, graduated from this world into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, April 10, 2025, after her long, hard fought battle with Cancer. She was a true warrior! Although frequently in pain, she was a gracious patient who always was a shining light to her doctors, nurses, and everyone who came in contact with her. She brought a bright smile and sparkle everywhere she went.

In her career as a High School Business Teacher in Roanoke County, she touched many hearts and frequently had former students come up and speak to her when they saw her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Jim Chitwood.

Pamela is survived by her husband, Jerry Altieri; son, Robert Altieri; daughter, Elizabeth Atkisson (Keith); grandchildren, Jacob, Rhilyn, Mattie, and Weston Atkisson; sister, Sandy Wills (Ron); nephews, Matthew Wills and Peter Wills (wife Casey and children, Jackson and Lachlan); as well as many dearly loved cousins. The lights of her life were her grandchildren. Pam also loved the special friends in her Life Group, as well as her Sewing Group, which made and donated over 200 quilts to several service organizations in the area.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 2:00pm at Orchard Hills Church, 6032 Cloverdale Rd.
